Cherchez La Moose: "Hi, my name is Stereo Mike!" This song is a total nostalgia trip for me. Drinking in LA was on the radio every 30 minutes or so in the Summer of 1997. These days when I hear it, all I can think of is warm sun, camping, golfing with my Dad, and being prepubescent. Oh, and not knowing most of the lyrics, but singing along anyways, murmuring similar-sounding words instead. Bran Van 3000 played a free outdoor show in downtown Montreal a few Summers ago, and I decided to attend because I wanted to support them. Turned out the entire city wanted to show support as well, because the turnout was one of the craziest things I've ever seen. So yeah, no worries Stereo Mike - no one has forgotten about you.
